Abbadia, the Observatory Castle

Chateau
Hendaye

Our opinion

An enchanting place, standing on the cliffs, built between 1864 and 1884 by Violet-le-Duc for Antoine d'Abbaye d'Arrêts, ethnologist, geographer and scientist. A romantic residence designed as a scientific laboratory. The visit of the castle can be extended by the discovery of the domain, a magnificent natural space of 64 hectares along the cliffs.
